I'm wondering, does anyone really enforce the whole "jay-walking" law in this country, or is it just one of those laws that was written to fill up the last line of a paper? And should those with the authority that do ticket or penalize "jay-walkers" still have a job? Or are they just enforcing the law because they are indeed a member of law enforcement?
Personally, I don't think it should be a law, and I think anyone that tries to enforce it should sit back with a cold one, and begin rethinking their entire life and occupation. People will break that law, and do on a daily basis all across America, and the world even. So why make it a law? All I'm saying is that laws should be made from an obvious "moral" idea, like, "don't steal," or "don't murder." But "jay-walking?" Really? It's the same as a law somewhere, I think, in Alabama where it's illegal for a cow to drive a vehicle the length of a school bus... Why is that a law? And why wouldn't someone want to see that? Are you telling me that if you saw a cow driving a school bus, it wouldn't stir some sort of emotion in you to cause you to roll on the ground laughing?! We could use some laughter in our lives, especially when we spend it working, or some other depressing activity.
But I digress. Why the law? Lawmaker's boredom perhaps? Who knows? What do you think?
